The Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) is excited to announce the official launch of the Youth Week Subcommittee, which will be responsible for planning Youth Week 2009 in the City of Windsor. Though Youth Week is a national campaign, it will be brand new initiative in the Windsor, taking place during the first week of May 2009. This campaign has been adopted by many municipalities across the country and consists of a weeklong campaign of events, ranging from the arts to active living. The Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee is thrilled to be the regional hosts for this initiative and is looking forward to the exciting line-up of events in May 2009.
The subcommittee shall consist of youth from high schools across the city, who are interested in getting involved in an exciting initiative that will positively benefit their community. Some perks of being involved in this project are community service hours, the opportunity to make connections with organisations, leaders and other youth in Windsor and an opportunity to do hands-on leadership development work.
