Get in Motion on Family Day - Feb 15th, 2008 - Written By: Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation will be celebrating Ontario’s first Family Day on Monday, February 18, 2008 with lots of active programs for families:
public swims, drop-in basketball, and fitness are scheduled for the new holiday!
Families are invited to get active and enjoy the warm water in three indoor pools:
1. Adie Knox Herman Recreation Centre, 1551 Wyandotte Street West.
2. Windsor Water World, 400 Wyandotte Street East, will have recreation swims from 1:30 – 3 pm.
3 Gino A. Marcus Community and Customer Care Complex, 1168 Drouillard Road, will be open for public swimming from 12 Noon – 2 pm.
Admission fees range from $2.00 per child to $10 per family.
Two children under the age of two are free with each paid adult ($4.00 fee per adult).
Gino A. Marcus will also be offering the following Family programs in honour of Family Day:
· ‘Family B-ball’ from 11:30 am – 1 pm, and · ‘Mixed Drop-In Basketball’ from 1 – 2:30 pm,
Youth 17 and under pay $1.00, and Adults 18 years and older pay $4.00 per session.
· ‘Family Fitness’, from at 12:30 – 1:30 pm, with a $4.25 Drop-In Fee which includes a variety of activities.
·‘Family Craft Time’, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, for pre-schoolers and youth ages 10 and under at the cost of $4.00 including materials per person.
