On September 27th, 2007 between 4:30-9:00PM the Sandwich Teen Action Group, in partnership with Kids Alliance and New Beginnings, is hosting a youth forum for young people between 14-21 years of age. The purpose of this event is to give youth the opportunity to voice their concerns, discuss significant issues among other youth and local decision makers, and actively participate in shaping our community to improve the overall living conditions for young people living in Windsor.
The Office of Child and Family Service Advocacy, funded by the Ontario government, has selected five cities in Ontario to hold a Youth Forum. This is Windsor's first year participating in the Youth Forum, along with Toronto, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Ottawa.
Our goal is to engage youth to speak up about the unspoken issues that affect their everyday lives and to forge a collective voice for all youth. Young people will have the opportunity to speak directly with politicians and community leaders.
We look forward to seeing you at the forum. Together we can strengthen our community, express our concerns and ensure all youth issues are heard.
